Guy
de Maupassant is forty years old, at the peak of his literary
fame in France and is unable to write the novel he has just begun.
"L'Anngelus", and it will never be completed, as he is already
doomed, without knowing it, by one of the most devastating diseases
of his century, Syphilis. But his amorous adventures and sexual
escapades with some of Paris's most beautiful women continue,
and they shall become the cause of his untimely downfall.
